Mercedes have over the years used a variety of phone technologies to integrate phone into the car. All these can be retrofitted.
One of the most popular phone kits we fit is the Fiscon Pro. This provides full bluetooth integration with the head unit, instrument cluster and steering wheel controls just like the factory system. It has also proved to be one of the most versatile systems available. It avoids all the unnecessary wiring and extra displays associated with kits such as the Parrot. STOP PRESS - Fiscon Pro now just £499 inc VAT - fitted. If you have a model year 2005 C/E/A/B/ML/GL/R class car (2003 for W211 E class) upto model year 2008, then the fiscon will work for you.
The most common type of factory installation is the UHI phone connection. This is characterised by the presence of the UHI connection plate in the centre armrest or occasionally on earlier cars, a mounting panel adjacent to the centre console.
This connection and the associated controller, looms and trim parts can be retrofitted exactly as per factory. In some instances where UHI wasn't an original option this can still be retrofitted.
The earlier Nokia 6150/6210/6310 type of cradle with the curly wire can easily be converted to bluetooth by simply deploying a Viseeo MBU-1000 cradle. This retains the use of the steering wheel controls, instrument cluster display and head unit integration.
We will shortly be releasing a new product for the 2005 - 2008 MOST cars which offers integrated Bluetooth phone and full digital ipod support.
